This
introductory course explores concepts related to business ethics, including how
business professionals should behave to ensure they maintain integrity and engage in socially responsible behavior. It covers topics such as conflict of
interests, fraud, employee privacy, time theft and abusive and discriminatory
behavior. Through the analysis of real-world business scandals and corporate
misconduct, students will gain insight into the various forms of unethical
behavior. Students will work in groups to analyze case studies to understand what happened, how the corporations behaved unethically, how the corporations responded to the crisis and what they could have done to prevent the scandal. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to recognize
ethical dilemmas, evaluate potential courses of action, and make responsible
decisions that align with both legal standards and societal expectations
