Welcome to Hearing Health for Music Educators! The ability to hear is an important part of your job, and this course is dedicated to helping you learn how to keep your hearing intact despite consistently placing yourself in loud environments. You will learn how your auditory system functions, how to assess your teaching environment as it relates to hearing health, how to take preventative hearing loss measures, and how to advocate for hearing health in both your classroom and your school. Learning about how to safely and consistently teach loud subjects in loud environments will not only save your hearing, but just might help preserve a bit of sanity, too.
