This course is an introduction to positive classroom learning environments with a major focus of the elementary level. We will explore the meaning of a positive classroom learning environment through discussing topics, such as social-emotional learning, classroom setup, and student behavior management. Candidates will gain the knowledge of how to set up their own classroom to create and foster a positive learning environment by generating a mock classroom map. The ultimate goal is to learn how to turn any classroom space into a positive space to maximize equitable student learning and engagement.
